About the Course

In response to research highlighting the need for Arab children and youth living abroad to feel connected to and proud of their Arabic identity, and recognizing the lack of visible, inspiring Arab role models amid the overwhelming cultural mix on social media, we developed this series to showcase remarkable Arab figures, both historical and contemporary, who inspire pride and a sense of belonging.

While Islamic history, especially the Prophetic biography, offers countless exemplary figures, many young people today also seek modern role models they can relate to and celebrate in today’s world.
For this reason, the series introduces contemporary Arab figures in sports, science, and the arts, presented in a way that resonates with children and youth growing up in the West or studying in international schools within Arab societies.
