About Us

Who?

  • Marhaba 🙂

I am Nada Naji, an Arabic language instructor for non-native speakers at the American University in Cairo. I have over 25 years of experience teaching Arabic to both Arabs and foreigners, children and adults alike, across local and international schools, universities, and charitable organizations serving refugees.

  • My research focuses on teaching Arabic to migrant children of Arab origin. I have presented my work at several conferences to highlight the importance of this group of learners and the urgent need to support their education through every possible means.
  • I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Literature and a Diploma in Educational Qualification from Damascus University, as well as a Master’s degree in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language from the American University in Cairo.

Why?

What the Reality Tells Us

Millions of migrant children of Arab origin living abroad are losing their Arabic language, their identity, and their connection to their homelands. Meanwhile, parents and teachers are doing their utmost to teach and preserve the Arabic language for these children, but the challenges are immense.

What Research Tells Us

Research shows parents expressing a strong desire to teach their children FusHa Arabic “It’s their identity and the language of the Qur’an,” “It will benefit them in their future careers,” “So they can communicate fluently with family.”

  • At the same time, children often shy away from Arabic classes—“It’s too hard,” “I don’t want anyone to know I’m Arab,” “I already speak the dialect, so why learn FusHa?”
  • Teachers, meanwhile, are striving to fulfill parents’ hopes, despite children’s reluctance to learn and the shortage of educational resources and academic training.

A Crisis, but…

We do not curse the darkness; we choose to light a candle.

From this spirit, “Arabic Made Simple” was created: a dedicated contribution to addressing these challenges. It offers learning with clarity and joy, enriched by interactive games and diverse activities, alongside educational guidance and pedagogical insights that elevate and enrich the learning journey
